Altrincham Festival

Altrincham Festival

offers a day of family fun, including a fun fair, grand parade with marching bands, and a costume contest. The festival showground offers entertainment for free and there are many fringe events taking place in various venues around the town, including pub quizzes and choir performances. Festivals are a fundraiser for different charities each year. Several months prior to the festival, there is a huge drive to recruit volunteers from the community to help out on the day and for several weeks.

There will be a car boot sale and a dog show. Quality food and drink stalls will also be available.

Altrincham’s festival was established in 1977

to celebrate the Queen’s silver jubilee. It has been managed and organized by volunteers and is always for non-profit purposes. Local charities, businesses and good causes have many opportunities to showcase their work and participate in fund raising activities. Festival organizers hope to encourage community participation and unity.

It is the largest free festival in Trafford.

The festival is also a Community Interest Company. There are several sections that are very popular, including the Altrincham Food festival and the Arts Festival.

Altrincham Unlimited organizes a Music Festival later in August each year.

The Goose Green Music Festival

In the run up to the August Bank Holiday weekend some of the amazing Goose Green, Altrincham businesses will be highlighted who, with the support of Altrincham BID, host the town’s Goose Green Festival.

The Green Room Altrincham, hosts many of the live venues in Goose Green festival and this year will be no exception with appropriate changes to take into account everyone’s safety and well being. So numbers have to be limited and it is table service only until things change.

The festival is held over two days during the August bank holiday weekend Saturday and Sunday. There are many great Goose Green restaurants and bars that offer delicious food and fantastic music. Children’s activities start at noon on Saturday, and end at 11 a.m. on Sunday. The organisers have an impressive lineup of talent that showcases many of our local musicians and provides an opportunity for music lovers to participate. The event is free and open to all ages. Many events have music starting at noon until 8pm.

The Goose Green Festival is centrally located in the town only a few steps from Altrincham’s market and the Stamford Quarter shopping center is and has easy access by rail, tram, bus, and parking
